JOSI Adventures - Current

I support climbers of all ages and abilities, helping them turn uncertainty into confidence one hold at a time. Whether I’m teaching basic techniques or adapting sessions for those with additional needs, I focus on creating a safe, encouraging space where everyone feels capable. Working with such a diverse mix of climbers has strengthened my communication, adaptability, and calmness under pressure. It's given me a front‑row seat to the moments where someone realises they can climb higher than they ever expected.

Devonport Live Cafe 2024-2026

At Devonport Live Café, I became part of a fast‑moving community hub where consistency, warmth, and efficiency mattered just as much as good coffee. I prepared food, made drinks, operated the till, and served customers simultaneously while maintaining a professional yet welcoming atmosphere. This role strengthened my organisation, communication, and ability to remain composed under pressure, alongside consistently upholding high standards of hygiene and safety.

Vaughan's Kitchen and Events 2021-2024

I supported a wide range of events, from weddings to corporate functions, delivering polished service in high pressure settings. Alongside front of house duties, I helped prepare food, made drinks, and assisted with service to keep events running smoothly from kitchen to table. The role strengthened my organisation, clear communication with clients and colleagues, and my ability to maintain high standards while adapting quickly to changing demands.

Bazaar Gifts and Cards 2021-2023

At Bazaar Gift Shop, a locally owned independent business, I worked with a traditional manual till and recorded stock levels and sales entirely by hand. This required strong accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail, as well as the ability to stay organised without digital systems. The role strengthened my reliability, customer communication, and confidence in managing tasks independently while supporting the smooth running of a small retail environment.

Additional Experience

University Royal Naval Units (URNU) 2023-2026

Through the University Royal Naval Unit, I gained hands‑on experience across the full spectrum of naval training, from demanding Royal Marine exercises, to navigation, seamanship, and driving warships at sea. I trained alongside serving personnel, developing discipline, resilience, and confidence in high‑pressure environments. This experience strengthened my leadership, teamwork, and decision‑making while giving me practical exposure to military operations and the responsibilities expected of future officers.

Rugby Social Secretary 2023-2026

As Social Secretary, I organised a diverse programme of events that brought the club together, from high energy Wednesday night socials and formal dinners to sober activities such as hikes and pottery painting. I managed planning, logistics, communication, and budgeting with professionalism while keeping each event engaging and inclusive. The role strengthened my leadership, organisation, and ability to coordinate people and resources effectively, contributing to a strong and cohesive club culture.

Dog Walking Service 2019-Current

Since 2019, I have provided a reliable dog walking service for local owners, building long‑term trust within the community. I have walked dogs of all temperaments, including reactive and behaviourally complex individuals. This requires calm handling, consistency, and strong awareness. I manage regular walks, schedules, and communication independenly which has strengthened my responsibility, professionalism, and confidence in caring for animals safely and effectively.
